We've watched the hapless Bucs, the hapless Seahawks, the expansion Ravens, etc. luck into Super Bowls, just because the statistical probability says it must happen. Yet somehow, against all odds, this franchise is trapped in a permanent state of mediocre nothingness. And the one chance we had in the modern era to actually achieve something, the league looked the other way while their chosen franchise cheated their way to yet another victory.
Four hours in the middle of my Sunday afternoon is an investment. It's the centerpiece of my day, which is one half of the weekend I spend all week looking forward to, The idea that I'm going to blindly dedicate that time to this team and this league, no matter what, is insane... and I won't do it anymore. There are plenty of things I can do that will actually bring me and my family a modicum of joy. Watching this crap league, with its relentlessly obnoxious commercials and its retarded/fixed officiating does nothing but make me feel like a fucking schmuck for ever turning it on in the first place.
Fuck this. I'm done with it.

...I spent some time on the west coast and enjoyed having half a day remaining to get over a debacle. Here on the east I will still be seething at 5:30am when hitting rush hour, gawd help the public."I feel much better now that my pants are on."- overheard conversation at a Gayte

The classic Philly sports fan mindset. It's not right or wrong - it is what it is. Both a shame and a mantle of pride. Love and hate in constant turmoil.
