  • Kelce snap with Bradford not ready

On the long ride back from South Philadelphia to NYC, Slag and I were just besides ourselves trying to figure out how a play like that could happen.

    I think I now have a clue/theory.

I think they may have been trying to go uptempo/no-huddle and Bradford was not on the same page as Kelce. One or the other of those two players f*cked up there, IMO. I suspect Bradford.

Of course, in his post game comments, Kelly gave no information as to what actually happened.

    See: http://www.philly.com/philly/sports/...o_Cowboys.html

"It obviously doesn't get any worse than this on offense," said center Jason Kelce, who snapped the ball before Bradford began his cadence, with 7:15 left and the Eagles trailing 13-3, causing a fumble the Cowboys recovered. This was the first play after Byron Maxwell ripped the ball away from Dallas tight end Gavin Escobar; Malcolm Jenkins scooped it and ran it to the Dallas 30. The stadium was ever so briefly alive. Then it wasn't.

"That was the worst rushing attack I have ever been a part of here," Kelce said, leaving open the question of where else, exactly, he might have been a part of such a debacle. Kelce told reporters he thought he had heard the snap count, which is an odd thing to be wrong about in your own stadium. "We have got to get this fixed up front. We have to get it better."

I've been up half the night. Can't sleep, mostly bc of that abortion I saw on the field.

So many things to say but don't feel like getting carpal tunnel.

That was as bad as the mike McMahon debacle.

He says straight up, Bradford was not paying attention.

Kelce snapped the ball too early. The fucking line wasn't even set. Chip reiterated that after the game.

Without question. And did you hear Mike Pareria chime in and say that should have been a flase start DEAD BALL and STILL the Eagles ball? Kelce F'd up the play, no one on the oL was ready for the snap and you can clearly see Bradford looking over the D LIKE HE SHOULD HAVE BEEN, when the ball got snapped.

Corrente and crew screwed up two HUGE calls in that game; first on the blocked punt, original call should have stood as it was clear helmet-to-helmet on the punter, and then this call on Kelce's screw up.

Not that either would have help on this day as the Eagles sucked azz from start to finish.

I saw a statement where he made the excuse that the crowd was loud and he thought he heard something that never happened (a cadence) ... which is ridiculous IMO.

As indicated in other posts in this thread, players were still moving when he snapped the ball.

If he was focused and knew the details of the play that was called, I suspect he should have known that it wasn't possible for the players to be set at the time he snapped it because there was enough time for them to finish moving.

I'm going to watch the play again but I'm pretty sure Bradford was looking to his right, checking the defense pre-snap like he was supposed to be, when the ball hit him in the chest.

I just read the story 3 times and still don't see where it states Bradford was not paying attention on that snap.
