I guess this is where we find out what kind of coach Chip is. A good coach will figure out ways to keep the D on its heels. He adjusted in the second half against Atlanta. Tried the same thing against Dallas and it didn't work. Now he has to adjust again.

Or he can take the Reid route and never change and assume the system will work no matter what. If he can't make adjustments, he's no different than Reid. He's certainly smart enough to do it. I guess the question is, "will he?"

      That first video is hilarious

Gardner is on his F*CKING knees almost instantly and he's blocking from his knees. God he's ridiculously bad. The other thing to notice on that is that the offensive lineman are going to be pulling out to the right, but the defense is actually stunting in an opposite direction. Gardner EASILY gets suckered back to the left and it turns into a giant clusterfuck where he's left this gaping hole there.

Really? I've seen no evidence that Chip is any better coach on Sunday than the FF was. It's the same thing: if what they installed Monday through Saturday works it's great, if it doesn't work they are hosed.

In every one of those F-ups, you have.....

.....a defensive lineman (or linemen) moving opposite the direction of the pulling Eagles O-line. He (they) just hunts for a gap (created most likely by a sh*thead like Andrew Gardner) and shoots it.

              He won't change

Obviously, he's trying to stretch the field out sideline to sideline and create lanes for people to run through, but what happens is you also create lanes for defenders to run through. The HUGE thing that is missing for Kelly's offense to work is a QB that can run. Of course it would work a lot better if people actually caught the ball.

                  Did you notice that...........

....we were getting stopped in the backfield by that weak side defender a lot? That's because that whole read option bullsh*t allows him to be free to do whatever he wants so that they can get an extra blocker to the side that the play is going. The ONLY THING that keeps him honest is the threat of the QB running to the opposite side. WE DON'T HAVE THAT, LADIES AND GENTLEMEN! WE HAVE THE LAME AND INFIRMED AT QB!!!

You don't think he's a smart football guy? I do. To me, the question isn't whether he's smart enough to adjust, it's whether he's too arrogant to make the adjustments. I'm not really talking about on-the-fly stuff.

I'm talking about him looking at the film, knowing what defenses are now going to do and coming up with a plan to counter that. Based on that article, he should have known, going into the Cowboys game, how they were likely to approach the Eagles and, then, at halftime, that the Cowboys likely knew what they did in the second half against Atlanta. It doesn't seem like he took those things into consideration at all.

I haven't been particularly impressed with his game day, on-the-fly, management.

He needed Mariota and now he's in trouble. We'll see. I'm still hopeful this thing can be turned around, but the Jets aren't a joke. That D is good. 0-3 might be impossible to climb out of.

So let's suppose Chip is smart enough to know that he shouldn't walk into traffic but he is arrogant enough to walk into traffic because he figures people will look out for him. Kind of like he's from Buffalo.

If Chip walks into traffic and gets hit, I'm not going to say what an arrogant bastard! I'm going to say what a stupid bastard.

I'm confident Kelly is a smart enough guy to recognize & fix this and do so quickly.

Truly expecting a complete 180 from the O we saw vs Dallas.

If not, get your popcorn ready. It's about to jump up a notch.

I wasn't trying to. I thought we might have been talking about two different things. Arrogance blinds one to intelligent decision making, which makes an otherwise smart person do stupid things. I'm very afraid that this is what we are going to be dealing with in Kelly.
