that all the new players brought in, particularly on the offensive side, might take a few more games to get settled into their system. If you are correct that the scheme is sound, then it is reasonable to think that the players need more time. It ain't magic, it's human nature to learn by doing.

On the other hand, if he brought in players that are of lesser quality than those he let go, the GM should be justly criticized.
