i see this is a team loss more than the other two, which really wrested on the shoulders of chip.

maybe it sounds like i'm trying to defend chip more than i am. this was a complete team loss and goes back to chip by virtue of the fact that he's the guy at the top. but this was the first such bad loss since chip became coach imo. the rest of his bad losses were just him fucking shit up in big situations. the two worst that come to mind were the SF and AZ games last year. the SF loss was FF-esque. the AZ loss included the most inexplicable non-challenge i've ever seen on polk's definite first down. atlanta was another such loss, with chip hesitating before finally sending out his hobbled kicker.

if chip didn't fuck up in these situations, a complete team loss would be acceptable sometimes. but he's gotten himself into a corner where it's not acceptable.
