The point is who would you bring in to compete for a roster spot? A young unproven guy with possible upside or a guy who has been out of the league for 2 years and sitting behind a desk offering his opinion on SEC football?
Are we really supposed to go nuts over missing out on a 3rd string QB? You wouldn't know he was even servicable at this point if he was an Eagle, as he would have zero chance of seeing the field.
Of all the hundreds of things to kill the Eagles over right now, the choice of 3rd string QB doesn't make my top 100.

...it could be indicative of a larger problem, talent evaluation.....I'm growing skeptical of the FOs ability to review talent. We have seen several examples and it is concerning that perhaps they value the system to the point of it being a detriment.

where do you come up with third string? he's starting and has a 104 QB rating.
unless you're saying chip is too dumb to have properly evaluated him. you might have a valid point there.
I'm saying 3rd string as an Eagle. They weren't evaluating Tebow as a possible starter, they were seeing if was serviceable as an emergency #3/gadget QB.
He got a chance to start in Buffalo because they had a new coach with no allegiance to a QB or two.
In Philly, after trading Foles and a 2nd for Bradford, and re-signing Sanchez, no QB coming in here was going to be pushing for a starting job.
Thus, in Philly, he would have been evaluated as a #3 and you'd never know he was decent.
As for his performance in Buffalo - I thought winning was all that mattered?

Pats have SB trophies. The Eagles not so much.
500 internet fights, that's the number I figured when I first joined igglephans. 500 internet fights and you could consider yourself a legitimate internet-tough guy. You need them for experience, to develop leather skin. So I got started. Of course along the way you stop thinking about being tough and all that. It stops being the point. You get past the silliness of it all. But then...after...you realize that's what you are.
However, every hour of practice and prep time, every rep in camp and preseason game devoted to Tebow was a complete and totally predictable waste of valuable man-hours.

That logic I can buy. I agree that Tebow was a useless distraction. I'm not defending Chip, just don't think Taylor is an issue worth complaining about given the massive material there is to work with if complaining will help you cope.
