The better term (I know it's Ford's term not yours) is "medicine balls", because medicine balls are an actual thing.

...I can see it in the cases of throwing high to a WR over middle leaving him vulnerable, but when it clanks off their hands with someone only moderately close( in NFL terms) No way.

Having worked with NFL WRs I will tell you " just get it to me " is the rule.

I think this one is a bit of a reach and partial excuse.

The reason those short crossing patterns work well for some teams is because the QB THROWS A CATCHABLE pass in front of the receiver so he can catch and make yardage in stride. SB passes are not accurate. They may go as dropped passes but they are poorly thrown.

I don't see Edelman bitching at Brady for constantly throwing him the ball in the middle of the field. That's what being a slot receiver is all about. Sometimes you take off for 20+ yards and sometimes you get your dick knocked in the dirt.
