I'm saying Sam needs to do that consistently the rest of the season. Cassel can't and that's why he's a backup.

I know. Was too lazy to switch the reply to Slizz.

If Sham would take 3 year, 20 million, I'd consider it. Still think Chip should get a QB with wheels.

But I'll believe it when I see it. I've been fooled by a good half of Bradford ball before and as W put it, "fool me twice and, um, I won't get fooled again."

Although I heartily agree with the main point, you are wrong about trending down for three weeks going into Dallas ... Bradford actually played ok in Carolina ... his targets dropped the ball all night.

Unsurprisingly, the problem is none of the options are enticing:

              1) a potentially overpriced Sham Badford with injury risk
              2) FA/tradeable QB - Colin Sackorpick I guess
              3) Draft a QB - Paxton Lynch, Jared Goff, Connor Cook, etc. If they are available.

I think if Sam gets hot that franchising is best. Who knows - But I suspect whatever happens will be disappointing.

I've seen the 2016 QB franchise tag projected at 25 million. Ugh.

It's rough, no question. But if he shows he can be a pretty good QB the rest of the way, Bradford just might be the best option. They won't be bad enough (probably) to draft a big prospect high, and a mid-round pick on a QB might be a good idea, but probably best not to rush someone who isn't ready. I don't there will be any good FA QBs either.

If Bradford finishes strong, I think he needs to be the guy in 2016.

No I still think they need a QB who can at least be threat to run, I say draft a QB like Paxton Lynch.

I do not want the Eagles to extend him for a long contract for two reasons.

First, his injury history is too sketchy to warrant that kind of faith. Had he lit it up for a season and demonstrated he has top five ability it would be worth the risk, but even the Bradford we saw Sunday night does't reflect the type of upside that warrants a long term investment in a banged up product.

Second, I feel like the Eagles are not getting what they paid for in Chip Kelly because of the lack of mobility displayed by both Bradford and Foles. I want to see this offense with a mobile QB at the helm before the Kelly area ends.

Therefore, if the scenario you suggest actually happens, I would expect the Eagles to tag him, or give him a two-year deal while they locate a mobile QB who they can groom to replace Bradford by 2017.

His ceiling just doesnt warrant that type of investment when your team runs the Spread option offense.

Lynch is playing his way to a top 5 pick. The Eagles SHOULD be picking outside the top 10, so it would be a whole 'nother offseason of what will they give up to move up in the draft, only this time with a less proven QB who didn't actually play for Chip.

                        They're already down a 2nd rounder.

Watching NFL live they talked about college QB's coming out and said Lynch would be the 3rd QB picked, I figure that may be around 15-18 which could be close. You are probably right about him though he is moving up.

There was a great article posted somewhere yesterday about Sam working with the QB coach these past few weeks to straighten out his footwork, which is exactly what I said the issue was all along with the picks.

Every QB makes some bad decisions, Sam has always been a guy to make very few but his footwork has been poor. Not sure if it's from not trusting the knee totally or rust but it needed cleaned up. at least 6 of his picks, maybe more, were on account of poor weight transfer/poor throws.

He's looked much improved since the start of the Carolina game and I see no reason that doesn't continue.

He's going to be Chip;s choice to extend long term, the only real question will be if Sam wants to continue playing here.

Oh and the # will be NORTH of $17/year, bank that.

There's no chance in hell Eagles franchise tag Bradford with that kind of cap hit. Would hurt chances to sign guys like cox to their 2nd contracts.

BBC (big balls chip you sick bastards) would use Sanchez and draft or sign somebody to compete with him.

Chip will be back to the NCAA if Sham Badford gets extended
