No Bob Dylan? He did it first.
John Erlichman, one of President Richard Nixon's closest aides, has admitted America's "War on Drugs" was a hoax designed to vilify and disrupt "the antiwar left and black people" when it was launched in 1971.

Sure there were a couple of people doing it before him but he made it a genre. He made it "acceptable" to rap about that stuff. Ruthless Records gave it a home.

There were a few quarterbacks that ran around before Randall but he brought it to a whole new level. Same kind of thing.

Edited - I'm no rap expert and I don't listen to much anymore but I was into it back then and always preferred west coast rap. Eazy was my favorite and I loved that he had no problem going after Dre and Snoop when nobody else would even think about doing something like that.

        DQ- Grand Master Fag
500 internet fights, that's the number I figured when I first joined igglephans. 500 internet fights and you could consider yourself a legitimate internet-tough guy. You need them for experience, to develop leather skin. So I got started. Of course along the way you stop thinking about being tough and all that. It stops being the point. You get past the silliness of it all. But then...after...you realize that's what you are.

You didn't put BONE Thugs on your list? East Ninety-Nine!

I like the East Coast influence of your list. I'll have to post my list soon, and its full of West Coast artists. I like threads like these.

Thanks for the biography, Rob Van Winkle.

I didn't realize straight outta Compton was already on Amazon Prime.

            We are talking about:

            Best

            Rappers

He's not even top 50 in a best rapper list.

Edit: he's top 50 but let's calm down on saying he was best rapper out of Dre cube and him. He's clearly the worst. That doesn't mean boys in the hood or 8 ball aren't great tracks.

McCarthy loves Easy because of his height.

Lol! I actually haven't seen the movie. Was it good? Alright maybe not top 10 rapper but you can argue top 10 or so most important.

Anyway, I guess I just have a soft spot for Eazy since we're both short dudes who are hard as fuck and cut our teeth selling rock.

The beauty of these lists is that they're so interchangeable. You could make an argument for Pac, you could make one for E40, you could make one for Mac Dre, Heavy, Treach, Scarface, the list goes on and on....
