Different types of concussions:
Concussion symptoms-headache, confusion, amnesia, double vision, tremors.
Grade 1: getting your "bell rung" without a loss of consciousness. Symptoms resolve within 15 minutes.
Can be cleared to play within 15 minutes if resolution of symptoms.
Grade 2: symptoms lasting longer than 15 minutes without a loss of consciousness.
Need to be removed from competition that day and if asymptomatic for one week can be cleared to play.
Grade 3a: brief loss of consciousness
Grade 3b: prolonged loss of consciousness.
3a:Withhold from competition for at least one week and can be cleared to play if asymptomatic.
3b: Withhold from competition for at least two weeks if asymptomatic.
2nd grade 3 concussion withhold from competition until asymptomatic for at least four weeks.
