  • Thinking about why I am becoming disillusioned with the NFL

I went to a soccer match two years ago in Málaga, Spain

The deal was you go to your seat and you sit there and watch the match. It was pretty much assumed once you went to your seat you would stay in your seat to watch the match.

There was a stand where you could buy soft drinks, potato chips or other snacks before you went to your seats.

There was a halftime break. You can go to the bathroom or go to the stand to buy soft drinks, snacks etc. at that time.

    It was fun!

Of course this is easier with no breaks for TV ads like NFL football. I have no idea what the television coverage was like.

I think that is part of why soccer is gaining popularity in the US. 45 minutes, break, 45 minutes. No dead time. You don't have to dedicate 3.5 hours to a game.

I went to a Premier League game in London in May. It really is a much better product than the NFL. I would rather spend my money this way than ever give Lurie any of my money.

Can you imagine if the NFL had regulation where the three worst teams gets demoted to the CFL for the following season? It would never happen but the product would certainly improve.
