Looking forward to seeing the guy Chip didn't want in training camp so he could give Tebow a shot. That's kind of embarrassing when you think about it.

17 TD, 4 ints, 104.3 rating. And he can run. Perfect fit.
Buffalo signed him to a 3 year, 3.5 million contact. That's 3.5M total, not annual. Hell, the Eagles gave Sanchez 9M for two years.Blue Chip College Football - Coach Your College to the National Championship

Yeah, just add it to the list. I mean even if you didnt think Taylor was great, in what universe do you not give him a try over Tebow?! I'm OK with Kelly the coach, but unless last weekend was the beginning of a turnaround, it still looks to me like he dismantled the team. Bradford is showing signs but just about everything else he's done on offense (ironically) has been a disaster."Listen to McCarthy" - Art Vandelay

Maybe he gets to the #2 position on the Eagles over Sanchez (though I doubt it given his contract and therefore faith from Kelly) but you're complaining about what likely would have been the 3rd string QB. Chip is all in with Bradford this year. Tebow was brought in because he could possibly be worth it to do non-QB things, not to challenge Bradford.
Hindsight is nice but this wasn't expected of Taylor last spring/summer. Hence his contract.--

If he excelled in preseason he very well could have challenged Sanchez. Possibly could have played and excelled then. You don't know what might have happened. Don't you bring in the best players? Kelly preaches competition and had no problem bringing in multiple running backs.
Bottom line: Kelly chose Tebow (off the street) over a guy who has turned out to be good starting qb - one that would be a perfect fit for his offense and probably is better than the guy he traded a second round pick for. For a gm that's embarrassing.Last edited by McCarthy12; 12-13-2015, 10:53 AM."Listen to McCarthy" - Art Vandelay

28 embarrassed GMs, amiright?
He was signed to a team with a legitimate QB competition. The Eagles didn't have that. Bradford was the 2015 gamble made before Taylor free agency and Sanchez was the backup with knowledge of the system. Kelly doesn't seem to care much about having a 3rd QB, that's why he tried out Tebow because he possibly could offer more value than holding a clioboard.
It's great Taylor has played well and I was actually interested in the Eagles getting him in 2013 from Baltimore but it was Dixon they wanted to install the offense.
It's funny that since 2013, there's pretty much no mention of Taylor here until this fall.--

Taylor was seen as a player to push for a backup QB job. That's not what the Eagles needed. I know it's easy to say they messed up after the fact but even if they had signed him he wouldn't be playing.--

If you point out the mistake now, it's hindsight. It's the defense of every incompetent exec. How was Chip to know? And since a guy can only sign with one team, there's always thirty other teams to try to hide behind. (Let's forget the fact that Taylor actually approached the Eagles)
Now if you did point it out at the time and comment on it now, then you're a secret Eagle hater who prefers ITYS to a winning team. Hater hater!!

Taylor may be great in Chip's system but he wasn't going to compete for the starting job this year and his performance has been surprising to pretty much everyone.--
