  • Actually, I think last year's draft was better than any of HowLo's drafts

Killer move is giving up 2nd round pick for Bumford.

They almost have to re-sign Bumford next year in order to recoup the value of that 2nd rounder.

2nd rd guards usually end up in the pro bowl, unless the Eagles pick 'em

What kills: they used a 1st, 2nd and 3rd round pick the last two years yet the wide receivers are still sub-NFL quality.

You have to cut Agholor a break, especially with the high ankle sprain. He's a rookie.

Hicks and Rowe were good picks

It still blows my mind that Chip can keep finding defensive gems in mid rounds (Logan, Hicks, Rowe, etc.) and somehow addressed the horrible Safety problem they've had in FA, but then his biggest FA contracts are for bums like Maxwell and Murray and his 1st round picks don't see the field.

It's not even like you can point at Pro Scouting vs. College Scouting. It's really odd.

We all thought that Chip's college experience would give him an advantage early in his coaching career because of his familiarity with these guys. So far, it's these players, guys that played at Oregon or the PAC 12, that have KILLED us. 9 players - more than a third of Chip's draft picks have either been an Oregon Duck or from the Pac 12. These draft picks should have been the foundation of Chip's program, instead, the majority of these picks have been a waste which has lead to bad free agent contracts.

                Busts
                Matt Barkley (USC)
                Joe Kruger (Utah)
                Jordan Poyer (Oregon State)
                Josh Huff (Duck)
                Taylor Hart (Duck)
                Ed Reynolds (Stanford)

                To Be Determined
                Rowe
                Agholor

                Decent Pick
                Ertz

This organization has proven to be clueless in the draft over the past 3 years (Marcus Smith). Chip coached Josh Huff for 3 years at Oregon and thought highly enough of him to use a 3rd round pick on him while John Brown and 6'4" 4.42 Martavis Bryant were on the board.

Jordan Matthews will never be more then a bigger/stronger Jason Avant.

Huff is more of a chump than a bust. And Reynolds is probably TBD worthy.
