Yeah, that was interesting. The whole dream sequence thing with the future family tied it in a little for those who might not have already learned about the connection.
Without giving away and spoilers, I'll say that I can see them developing some story lines with a few of the surviving characters.

I liked it a lot, and like the show a lot, but it's pretty crazy how many of those shots and scenarios are ripped straight from Coen Brothers movies. The near-confrontation by the car is almost a shot-for-shot remake of a similar scene in No Country For Old Men, for example.
I'm thinking that some of that is intentional. Perhaps the episode directors wanted to mimic, or perhaps pay homage to something Coen (especially since they were bankrolling the production). There was a lot of Coen movie music covered in the episodes, too.
