I would love a defensive guy but I don't know if Opie is the way to go.

After the #culture meltdown of the Kelly era, I think we need a coach who is good with people, and if I'm not mistaken, I remember reading that McDermott was not good in that area when he was here.

Also, after Lurie's pre-game intervention, I think he'll look for someone who can be described as a motivator. I just can't see Opie as that.

Fangio's defense was unreal in San Fran and he has completely changed Chicago's defense this year. Bears fans rave about how well he has done. Wherever he goes, his defense is stout. He would utilizie Fletch just like he did with Justin Smith.

A retread but it has to be the right one. I'm also more heavily in favor of getting a DC or OC a shot. But no college coaches and no Cinderella stories. There is talent there to work with but it has to be used the right way. No gimmicks. Just hardnosed D and running offense. I believed Kelly could get it done. But I was wrong. Hope Roseman picks Kellys photo negative.
