I know it was posted here already but these teams all have their issues. I know it sounds hard to believe but there are actually worse GMs than Howie on some of these teams. For example, Grigson traded a first-round pick for Trent Richardson, bombed in the free agent market, supposedly dictated who would and would not play, and overruled his coach when he tried to discipline players. Luck fell into his lap. It made him look less like a dolt.

I do get your point that having neither doesn't help though. Maybe we should hope the Eagles don't get the guy they want. We're talking about a team that cancelled their interview with Bruce Arians.

You think Bill Bellichick knows less than you when he says he thinks Kelly got fucked over?

I think Belichick said what he said about Kelly more for his own gain than anything else. Think about it, both his OC and DC are potential candidates that the Eagles should look at. The more mud Belichick slings at the Eagles the less likely one of his coordinators takes the job.

Roseman being canned would be the dream scenario (not gonna happen), but I would feel at least OK with a few experienced personnel guys and a strong head coach who won't give a shit about Howie.

I don't know much about Donohue but I can't imagine a guy like that who has been around the block is really going to let a pencil pusher tell him what's up.
I think it's fair to say, most teams that have successful coaches also have strong front offices. They draft well from round 1 to round 7 and they don't make costly mistakes in free agency.

If I were a HC candidate and I had the choice between the Eagles with their current clusterfuck front office and a team that has an established GM, I would tell the Eagles to piss off. The odds of success aren't great unless you've got good football minds in charge.

Why? He didn't draft the one he has now.

If you're talking about Brees not being the guy Payton drafted, that's a very unique situation. The GM AJ Smith and Marty Schottenheimer were at odds with each other and Brees was a long shot to recover from his shoulder injury.

              Arians didn't draft his QB

I'm not sure I understand your point. For the current state of this team, I think the best thing they can do is draft a QB and go with an NFL coordinator at this point.

If their state was different and not such a hot mess, I may change my mind. You reload with a name, you rebuild with a no-name. This team is almost as far from a real contender as you can get. In my opinion, Payton can only polish this turd into maybe a division winner in a putrid division. I prefer a complete colon cleanse and flush these roaches, ducks, bust, chumps, jagoffs, wrong brothers, etc,.

You said they need to follow the blueprint and draft...that isn't the blueprint.

Plenty of teams win with QBs they obtain by other means.

That's the Eagles blueprint. It worked once and gave us good football for almost a decade (Reid, McNabb, Johnson). Sure it's not everyone's blueprint but that's the one they should follow in their current state.

Yea, well, Howie's blueprint will be to obtain one that sucks.

I figured we still had one more year of Kelly soiling this team. They're playing with house money in 2016 in my book. As long as they go into 2017 with all of their draft picks, they're ahead of schedule. Regardless, this team is still irrelevant (yes, still) for a few more years.
