I've just come to grips with the fact that a Jeff Lurie owned Eagles team won't ever win a super bowl. He keeps the wrong kind of guys around him and no coach worth 2 shits would want to work with Howie. We're seriously becoming Cleveland.

What I don't understand is, does Lurie not know that Howie is disliked around the league? I mean, if he is at all tuned in, he should know that. And if he does, does he just not care? I find it hard to believe that he is so insulated that he does not know that Howie is a problem.

Top candidates like Gase and the like don't have to really sell Lurie. Lurie should have to sell THEM on why they should agree to work with such a dysfunctional, fucked up, Front office that has run Andy Reid, Tom Gamble, Ed marynowitz, Chip Kelly, etc. out of town and why Howie Roseman is always the last man standing.

Guys like Gase and Hue Jackson don't have to kiss his ass. They'll be getting theirs kissed and have teams competing for their services.

And, when the dust settles and the Eagles are hiring some schmuck nobody has heard of (or giving the keys to Shirmur and then trying to sell the fans some bullshit about Shurmur being here 13 years, knows the organization blah BLAH BLAH) we will all be the ones taking the gigantic bite out a crab fry filled shit sandwich.

Not saying Shurmur cannot be a good head coach. Can never judge a guy after a stint in Cleveland. Just saying if it is him he'll be 3rd or 4th choice after the top targets tell Lurie to go fuck himself and no coach with any dignity would agree to work in a FO structured in this ridiculous fashion.

I think you're right. That's why we'll probably end up with a coach who was with the organization within the last five years or so, knows Howie is a shitbag and either thinks they can handle him or is just happy for the opportunity regardless. That makes the list of favorites Ginger, Pederson or Shurmur and Duce a longshot, unless Lurie throws a bunch of money at Geighse or someone else.

Some guy at Fox also said they are "considering pursuing" Lions DC Teryl Austin and Vaggies OC Ben SuckAdoo in addition to Geighse.
