    End of an area

The application with the NFL to file for relocation is ... Wait for it... $550M. Raiders and Rams are expected to file as well.

    Yes. That's an M behind 550.

That's not the fee to file for relocation, that's the fee to actually relocate.

Still it's like a third of any of those teams' values.

This tells me the Raider and Chargers moving to LA has the inside track. $1.1 Billion for McMahon!

Chargers-Rams is still a good possibility too, with them sharing Kroenke's Palace ala Giants/Jets
        .
NFL really wants NFC/AFC in NoCal and NFC/AFC in SoCal

They ( NFL) don't care if the Chargers are in San Diego or LA, so long as the AFC is represented.
Raiders are stuck in Oakland because nobody else is going to move to the Bay Area.
And the Curse of Al Davis means the other owners aren't handing that LA pot- of- gold to the Raiduhs.
The LA market isn't just about the home team either - its also about a place for all the transplants to see their beloved Steelers/Browns/Pats.

I'm an old-school, traditional guy and it makes me sick to see one of the original AFC teams move from it's birthplace. Like the Browns/Ravens deal, I see a strong fanbase taking it up the butthole. I grew up watching Hadl, Alworth, etc so this doesn't sit well with me at all.

Good points. In any case it looks like the St. Louis Rams could be history really soon.

Gary "The Ghost" Garrison ... Dickie Post ... loved watching the old AFL.

                  Looking like a shotgun wedding

Chargers - Rams forced marriage in LA

Raiders stay home and get a "financial apology" to help build their new digs in Oakland

NFL gets what it wants: AFC/NFC in both NoCal and SoCal
Rams will do very well there, the Chargers will be the Clippers of old that nobody gives a shit about.

$ 1.1 billion in relocation fees...gonna have to sell a lot of PSL's

they should go back to the Lance Alworth vintage powder blues, even if they were in San Diego at the time.

is there enough pent-up demand for them to do "very well?" Has the region just resigned itself to not caring about not having a team all these decades?
