I don't think he's what Lurie's looking for right now. Trotter came out against McDermott as the HC, saying during his first run as DC he was arrogant and unapproachable. Based on that, it makes sense that Lurie would pass.

I don't trust Opie to be a defensive mastermind. Rivera has been too good for too long at running defenses to not get at least partial credit for Carolina's success on D.

Yeah? I would understand that given that Howie ran him and brother out. But the quotes from his 97.5 interview makes it sound like he would be interested. Who the f knows.

for the record, Howie didn't run the brother out. Smolenski did. And Tim ran himself out of town with the job he did. He works for the Sixers now in a similar position --- have you seen any good marketing/promotions out of that camp? Yeah, me neither.
