    RIP the great Vince McAneney

One of the alltime greatest football coaches in South Jersey history. A bunch of his guys made it all the way to the NFL.

First game I ever covered for money was Pennsauken-Bridgeton in 1971 and I had no idea what I was doing. He was incredibly kind and patient. His teams were racially diverse and they always played hard and played together. He was a hilarious quote machine and was the same after a (rare) loss. Vince was also an excellent basketball official, the kind you didn't notice because he let guys play and when he blew the whistle there was no doubt it was a foul.

I'm a 1980 PHS grad and though I didn't play for the coach I can say he had great influence on so many passing through. Truly a great man.

As you said, the were several players that made the NFL... Here's an NFL films piece on five from my era.
