The odd thing is, that last part, is a compliment to a coach. If a guy can get you values on every player in the NFL, all you need to do is give him the grocery list and it gets done. Howie can get the Ingredients, but he ain't no chef.
This generation’s Eagles are Roseman’s, even more than they were ever Jeff Lurie’s or Joe Banner’s Andy Reid’s or Chip Kelly’s. The knock on Roseman is that he isn’t a football guy, that he’s good with numbers, and analytics, and negotiations, that he’s good with understanding NFL valuations without objective context. The most damning line may have come from a former Eagles employee who said Roseman “could tell you that a guy would go in the second round—he couldn’t tell you if that player would be good.”
