Even though he's not a top round guy, how much money did he just throw away? I could see him not even being drafted now. When stuff like this happens, it makes me wonder why I invest so much time and energy watching these guys.

I suppose it's relative. Assuming he drops 30-60 picks, he's taking a small hit. The unquantifiable part is how that drop may remove him from some teams' draftboards which may reduce his chance at success.
