  • Chip's offer to Tennessee last year...

We heard whispers of this last year, but if it's true...Speechless. Thank God the Titans are too stupid to have taken them up on the offer.

People would have lost their minds if that went through.

insane offer because of fletcher cox. also implicit, since this was after the bradford deal, was that it included this year's 2nd. however bradford sucks, agholor is a bust, and rowe...we'll see. would mariota have been worth more wins than fletcher cox last season? i'm not sure. but without knowing how our picks will turn out, the offer was crazy.

such was the moral hazard of giving chip kelly the keys after two seasons. he knew he could do whatever he wanted with the roster and bear none of the consequences.

One point the writer made was that Chip would still be here as well. That's enough for me right there.

Wow! Now that I look back on the "chip era" I think about the loner sittin at the end of the bar.

I think we basically knew this last year except that Mychal Kendricks was ALSO reported to be in the deal. The interesting thing is the wording of the offer. Chip and his love of semantic games now can credibly say that neither Bradford nor Cox were ever offered (since it was a broader offer that included the possibility of Tennessee picking them).

The question is whether a franchise QB is worth what was reportedly offered.

And assuming, without declaring, that Mariotta is a franchise QB, it's a hell of a lot more arguable than what's being stated in this tread.

It's very possible this isn't true. However, with Chip calling the shots...nothing would surprise me.

I call bullshit on this article. Another media member making shit up.
this article says no meaningful offers were ever made.

What baffles me is if mobile Mariotta really was his prototype, why give so much for gimpy Bradford? Especially when mobile Tyrod Taylor is begging you to sign him. Chip is an enigma.

If the reports are right (big if), he thought the Titans would take him as part of a trade.
