  • greetings from San Diego

Staying at Torrey Pines Lodge...one of the most beautiful golf courses I have ever seen..took a lesson yesterday and didn't embarrass myself (too much) on my round today.

Slag...its a public course owned by the city...$40 if you live in San Diego...$500 if you dont. Obviously I dont and just as obviously I was an invited guest...would never pay that for a round of golf even if I COULD afford it.

Great vacation!!! How are you ladies?

A friend from work and I stayed there 2 days prior to a work conference and played the courses. Yeah most beautiful course I ever played. Enjoy!

      You sure?

You should double check that rate. I paid 60 to play the North Course (the South was aerated the previous day) about 7-8 years ago. The website says it's now 100 on M-Th and the South is 185. Someone is fucking with you. Hit em straight and have a good time. Check out the zoo

First round was a part of a package deal staying there. Second round a supplier picked up.

It appears Torrey is a bit higher than Bethpage (which has a similar great deal for NY residents and hits others for more money) but the TP website has the South for 185-230 (depending on weekend or not) and the North for (100-150) for non-residents.

The only course I ever paid 500 for was Pebble Beach (as part of a 25th wedding anniversary trip) and, frankly, the price was nuts but IMO worth it (assuming you get nice weather).

          You should play it once.

Maybe IG was quoted a foursome price??

Pebble beach is on the bucket list

I hit the green off that cliff on 8 from 180 with the Pacific in the background ... and the orderlies at the nursing home will someday be bitching about Ol' Man Slag asking them if I ever told them about that shot again.

Played Pebble in 1996 when it was ONLY $200. Walking up 18 was the best 400 yard walk ever.

Smartest thing to do there is not be a "tough guy" and play from tees you can handle.

You're paying 500 bucks ... have a good time ... you still have to hit good shots.

The rate likely includes the broker fee for securing a tee time. Its a cottage industry here with guys buying/selling tee times at Torrey. And The Lodge at Torry Pines gets some tee times set aside for their guests, and there's a mark- up for that too.

Nude Beach is directly below the course, but you can probably skip it since its mostly fat old guys

I remember hitting #3 and getting par. One of the few I had in that round!

                            Nice city.

But they put hummus on their whole wheat pizza. Blech.

Ref probably feeds that shit to his dogs.
