  • Senor Wentz

I'm starting to get to the point where I think I would fine with drafting (or trading up for) Wentz. I really like everything I see and hear about him.

I'm not as sold on Goff. I want nothing to do with Lynch.

Kempski keeps making the point that you need either an elite qb or an elite defense to win and he's right. How often do you find yourself in the position to draft a top qb prospect? I would take the chance on Wentz but probably not the other two (definitely not Lynch).

they (we) already have a franchise QB and former #1 overall pick. They're (we're) fine there.

A offensive coaching staff that has QB teachers/former QBs all through it.

As I wrote in another thread, drafting a top-of-the-draft QB also buys Pederson more time. The worst case scenario (other than all 3 QBs sucking) is that Wentz shows enough early that you throw the original plan out the window and start him earlier than expected a la Russell Wilson. Not in the first year, maybe, but early.

I had this really strong feeling, while Mike Vick was in prison, that he was going to sign with the Birds when he got out. I have almost that exact same feeling that Bradford is going to blow out his knee in week 2.

There's a 22 mil and a 12 mil QB on the roster. And they're going to draft one? I just don't buy it.

Bradford is only on a two year deal. That's the only reason I could see them doing it. I don't think they are married to him at all (maybe they would move him?). It's a lot of money, but it's the most important position. We've seen the last few years what happens when you have to fall back on Mark Sanchez.

You could be right. I'm just saying I'd be cool with it.

Oh there's no doubt about that. But there's too much $$$ committed to QB's on roster, no 2nd round pick, and way too many areas they need to be addressed outside of QB.

I think they'll take one but not too day 2 or 3

No, I hear you. I'm fine with that too. I'm with you on Hargreaves. He's my guy if he's there. I'd be down for them to take Hogan or one of those guys later on.

If they cut Bradford after this season, they save $11 million on the cap.

I'm thinking more and more that the Eagles want to draft a franchise QB this year, and they only signed Bradford in case they couldn't get their guy. Rather than reaching, they'd just take BPA and roll the dice with Bradford.

Lurie wants the Reid era again. That means having a franchise QB. Bradford's short deal shows they are not sold he's it.

When compared with Bradford and Daniel.

Also-general consensus among writers/commentators is that Bradford is either cut, traded, or renegotiated prior to seeing his year 2 money.
