  • Birds should draft Elliot

If for no other reason than to keep him from the Vaggies. I'm not sure I want to see Odell and Elliot on the same offense.

If he gets past Dallas, he's ours (theirs).

I do agree the Vags will draft Zeke if he's there at 10 and that would be bad.

Yuck. Don't wanna see him in NY. I might need to buy a dog.

I'm warming up to the idea. It'd be nice to know you have a stud for the foreseeable future.

I'd still rather get a stud OT, but if they're gone, this would make the offense better.

Stanley will probably be there. I just don't love him at #8. I'd rather trade out of the spot than take him that high.

BPA at #8. If not, trade back for a later first and a second.
500 internet fights, that's the number I figured when I first joined igglephans. 500 internet fights and you could consider yourself a legitimate internet-tough guy. You need them for experience, to develop leather skin. So I got started. Of course along the way you stop thinking about being tough and all that. It stops being the point. You get past the silliness of it all. But then...after...you realize that's what you are.

Trade down with someone who wants Elliott....we get the OL we want,
and the Giants don't get Elliott.

I've never been a fan of that approach....

RBs are not the most difficult position to find a solid player.

Plus we have far greater needs.....drafting someone else's needs out of fear only undermines us.

Finding a player as well-rounded as EE, who can make an immediate impact, is always difficult.

The conventional wisdom about running backs is the only reason you're going to have a shot at him with the 8th pick. He's probably the best player in the draft. If he's there, don't hesitate.

Not going to make much of an impact....

....with a weak and aging line and no deep threat.

I do like the scenario of trading back a few spots, perhaps picking up a 2nd rounder, drafting Stanley, then getting your RB.

You can't fix everything at once. You've significantly upgraded one OG spot, and I'd lean toward using two of the first three Day 2 picks on OL (if the value is there, obviously). You can improve the line without using the 8th pick. There's no reason Elliott can't match or exceed Gurley's production running behind a lousy Rams line. Before the Brooks signing or the draft, the Eagles were already a much better unit.

It's been a long time since they've been in a position to get a franchise talent like Elliott. Hopefully, it'll be a long time before they have the chance again. From my perspective, this is an easy call.

                          Zeke

I don't love the idea of a RB at #8, but if he's clearly the best player on the board then so be it.

I would rather use a 1 on him than see him in Dallas or NYG.

                            Hope Dallas passes on him

Nothing we can do about Dallas. If they do take him, maybe Jack falls to #8. I can live with that.

No excuse for letting the Gnats get him. None.
