If for no other reason than to keep him from the Vaggies. I'm not sure I want to see Odell and Elliot on the same offense.

I'd still rather get a stud OT, but if they're gone, this would make the offense better.

BPA at #8. If not, trade back for a later first and a second.500 internet fights, that's the number I figured when I first joined igglephans. 500 internet fights and you could consider yourself a legitimate internet-tough guy. You need them for experience, to develop leather skin. So I got started. Of course along the way you stop thinking about being tough and all that. It stops being the point. You get past the silliness of it all. But then...after...you realize that's what you are.

I've never been a fan of that approach....

Plus we have far greater needs.....drafting someone else's needs out of fear only undermines us."I feel much better now that my pants are on."- overheard conversation at a Gayte

The conventional wisdom about running backs is the only reason you're going to have a shot at him with the 8th pick. He's probably the best player in the draft. If he's there, don't hesitate.

Not going to make much of an impact....

I do like the scenario of trading back a few spots, perhaps picking up a 2nd rounder, drafting Stanley, then getting your RB."I feel much better now that my pants are on."- overheard conversation at a Gayte

It's been a long time since they've been in a position to get a franchise talent like Elliott. Hopefully, it'll be a long time before they have the chance again. From my perspective, this is an easy call.

I don't love the idea of a RB at #8, but if he's clearly the best player on the board then so be it.Check out our sports blog Deep(ish) Thoughts
