  • You older guys still into sports like you used to be

I think I burned out on it all. I really don't watch much anymore. I'll watch the Eagles games, but that's about it. Maybe it's the availability of all these channels and movies. IDK Maybe if the Philly teams were better....

I'm not sure if I qualify for older, but it's just not the priority it used to me. I'll flip on the Phils in the background, which was commonplace regardless, but besides football, it's just not that high on the list.

Some things in life are more important than a bunch of millionaires pretending to care that the City they represent needs them to win some game.

Same. I think it really started to change once I had kids, but you could insert any number of "real life" things that would have the same effect. The Eagles are the only team I "have" to watch. I watch the Sixers pretty regularly (as much as I can stomach) because I love basketball. Otherwise, I follow the teams and try to watch big games but I just can't follow it all as closely as I used to. Nor do I care as much.

At 42 I am not sure that I am one of the older guys either. Outside of the Eagles and the NFL I don't really watch much anymore. The NHL lost me pretty much after the last strike and the fact that the Maple Leafs are a joke I just don't really care much anymore. The cost of going to any sporting event is brutal and the money that these guys make is just over the top. How much money do you need?? If they weren't making it though, the owners would charge just as much for a ticket, beer and clothing as they do now and pocket it themselves. These teams holding cities and taxpayers hostage is what drives me mad. They are private businesses getting huge tax breaks when they're making millions. I don't remember the gov't handing me any money to stay open or to build me a new facility to keep me from moving to another town where they're going to spend tax dollars to do so. It has turned me off for sure.

It's about time you went outside to play with the other kids. The sunshine will do you good.

Way more back into racing than sitting on the couch watching TV, it used to kill me to miss an Eagles game, now I am kinda vanilla on it?

I'd be happy to answer the question if you'd actually asked one. Your original post was in danger of careening into KG-like rant.

                      NFL and college football, yes
                      Baseball yes

NHL, NCAA basketball and NBA hardly ever watch anymore.

Don't hit him with a "F*ck Off". Drop that Fuck Off on him. The (*) yells passive aggressive. Go hard or go home.
500 internet fights, that's the number I figured when I first joined igglephans. 500 internet fights and you could consider yourself a legitimate internet-tough guy. You need them for experience, to develop leather skin. So I got started. Of course along the way you stop thinking about being tough and all that. It stops being the point. You get past the silliness of it all. But then...after...you realize that's what you are.

                              I'm 54 and

Just can't watch anymore. Moved away from Philadelphia at 18 and have lived in New York and Dallas...the heart of the enemy. Had beer thrown at me at MSG, Shea, Nassau, and NJ only to never win the big one. Losing just took its tool...although I still do lurk here.
