  • Your Philadelphia Phillies...

Just swept the NL East leader and will not finish April below .500.

The first time they've been 2 games over .500 since 2012.

Go out and watch this team. They're a pleasure right now.

I was in the house last night to see the Piece hit the walk off. Who knows how many (if any) walk offs RyHo has left with us, so being there last night was awesome.

Seeing the future up close while also seeing the past and present fight like hell is awesome.

                    Slag,

I looked into this. Every game played on schedule accounts for 1/162nd of a team's record. Games in April are not weighted differently than later in year. Hope this helps!

                    XOXO,

Just a friendly reminder to enjoy this team.

They will probably return to earth at the end of the month (@Tigers, @Cubs, Nats, Brewers, Cubs, @Nats). Hopefully they can stock enough wins now plus split enough from the Nats, Cubs and tigers, to look decent through June. That would be a hell of an accomplishment.

I've been trying to watch when I can. Regardless of what happens going forward, at least a stable of good, young pitchers is in place. Scoring 2 or 3 runs a game isn't going to cut it, but it's easier to find some bats to compliment a team with good pitching, rather than the other way around (at least that would seem to me to be the case).

I've seen them whenever I could (which is often) and I really like what I'm seeing. They're young and hungry with a stable of good arms in the rotation and pen along with flashing good leather almost every night. When Howard's big salary is off the books after this season the Phils are poised to add more offense to the attack.

Great pitching and good defense will win you a lot of games in this league. If the BP didn't blow the first two games of the season they would be 21-12...crazy.
