    Eagles possibly targeting Joe Douglas

    For personnel job. Former Bears' director of college scouting and Ravens' national scout.

    Two league sources told the Tribune the Eagles requested and were granted permission to interview Douglas for a vice president position in Philadelphia that would oversee the team's pro and college scouting departments.

    The Eagles started a search for this position earlier in the year and reportedly met with about six candidates before the decision was made to wait until after the draft to fill the role. They reopened the search and have targeted Douglas. Key decision makers in Philadelphia are already familiar with him. The Eagles considered Douglas for their college scouting director job last year before the Bears hired him.

        Technically it's a promotion for him - from director of college scouting to vice president. The Bears could have blocked it, but they didn't.

          Good news if he's going to come in and actually have an opinion that carries some weight. But asking Roseman to relinquish power might be difficult. I could see him stabbing this poor bastard in the back and firing him within 18 months, tops.

              It will be a passive aggressive smear campaign. After a few losses in a row, Howlurie will make a comment about talent. Then it will be a John Snow stabbing. They might even sprinkle some crack on his dead body.
              500 internet fights, that's the number I figured when I first joined igglephans. 500 internet fights and you could consider yourself a legitimate internet-tough guy. You need them for experience, to develop leather skin. So I got started. Of course along the way you stop thinking about being tough and all that. It stops being the point. You get past the silliness of it all. But then...after...you realize that's what you are.

                        Hopefully the new huggles Howie will be able to reel him in this time.

                            Heres an article about Douglas and Weidl scouting Matt Ryan and Joe Flacco. its very possible that the Eagles patterned their scouting of Wentz and Goff after the efforts of these two.

                              If he's a future GM he will have a short shelf life here. Howie will do things to him that would make Ramsey Bolton blush.
