to use the Douglas hiring as a cover for releasing Sham or trading him for a pair of dirty socks.

I'm still holding out on getting some return on this investment. Hopefully some professional pride kicks in and he goes out and has a career year. The sooner he puts this misguided temper tantrum in the reaw-view mirror, the sooner he can get back to the business of being a real NFL quarterback.

That was my whole problem with the holdout, he had nothing to gain and all to lose. Just come in here have a very good season and let the chips fall where they may, and we can get some value for him.

Is he planning on talking to the coaching staff, or is he just going to use those big sideline cards left over from Kelly?

Yeah, it didn't make any sense for him from a financial standpoint. That's what's so troubling. It would appear that his hurt feelings and ego were so strong that it completely overrode what was best for him from a career perspective.

He could have channeled his frustration into a great "F You, I'm going to make sure the fans wish the Eagles had never drafted Wentz because I'm going to play so well that he'll never see the field" moment. Instead he took his ball and went home (literally).

Agreed. I hope he has a career year and we (they) make playoffs for first time in 8 years. At the end of the day we just want marks in the W column.

Also, wanna do well bc the thought of Cleveland getting a top pick next from philly year makes me nauseous.

They made the playoffs in Chip's first year. I still have flashbacks of KKKooper dropping a pass on 3rd down with no one near him.

I'm curious how the rest of the team feels about him now. I got the impression that the guys really liked him at the end of last season. I think they players don't get as caught up in this stuff as we do because they care more about the business side and know they have to do what they have to do to maximize earnings. That said, this was actually a stupid business move by Sam that would probably hurt his earnings. Such a weird move.

Oh yeah. Forgot about that loss. I guess over time (and thousands of beers) they all just mold together like play do left in the sun.
