“I’m excited to be back on the field today with my teammates and coaches,” Bradford said. “The business-side of football is sometimes a necessary consideration. My attention and efforts are focused on the participation in and preparation for a championship season: I am committed to my teammates and the Eagles organization for nothing less.”

But it was a bad business move!! There was nothing "business" about it. They publicly said he was the starter. He's already getting paid. Maybe his teammates don't care but there's just no way to spin that to the fans. He should just say "sorry."

It was a business decision. Howie wanted his cake and eat it to. he told Bradford he had a chance to sign a long term deal with the Eagles but once the Eagles spent all the assets Bradford knew he had zero chance of signing a long term deal here. This is Wentz's team now and in the future. Bradford figured why should he have to learn another new system and kill himself when the Eagles would kick him to the curb at the end of the season anyway.

        When was that said?

I do not recall reading that anywhere.

Nonsense. Bradford turned down a long term deal and opted for a 2 year deal instead. That was his business move. The Eagles then did what they had to do for the long term stability of the franchise and still publicly reiterated that he was the starter. That's when you act like a man, take your 22 million or whatever and compete. Business was concluded then.

He opted to be a sour sally and, ironically, hurt his brand in the process. Let's also remember who we are talking about here - a guy with a career losing record, no playoff wins and no more than 10 games played in a season. If that was his "business" move, he should stick to football. At least he is mediocre at that. To quote Unicron from Transformers the Movie: "Your bargaining posture is highly dubious."

It has been said over and over that Bradford is looking for a long term contract. His agent said it.

I am not defending Bradford and I want him gone but that long term deal was a rumor. I never heard it confirmed by him or his agent. And it was never confirmed by Chip who said it was false.

If Chip said it was false, then it was probably true. Regardless, it doesn't change the fact that he, of all people, should be extremely grateful for every penny the Eagles gave him (and I don't normally take that position, because I know it is a business). If that tantrum was business, it was really bad business. He should try playing an entire season before he gets all sandy over the Eagles drafting a qb.

Bradford himself said it last August, he turned down the long term deal to bet on himself. Well he lost.

I'd shovel puke for two years for $22 million.

It had nothing to do with drafting a QB, it had everything to do with giving up the assets to move to #2 to draft a QB. That affectively ended any chance of Bradford getting a long term contract here.
I don't blame him and I wish the Eagles would have traded him when they made the deal for the #2. Now this will be a soap opera all season. It will turn into a mess.

No he didn't. He said it must have gotten lost in the mail when they asked him about the rumor because he denied he got that offer.
