True. And it's always (well almost always) a hollow threat.

I agree it probably happens every election year..

But the threat of Nuclear Warfare with Chump as POTUS is not just "drama talk"

This dude could really start WW3 and have the whole world wanting to launch shit in to our backyard, not good...

            Oh come on

I remember the same nonsense talk when Reagan got elected. I agree Trump is a buffoon but let's be honest, Hillary has been a disaster in pretty much everything she's done. Would she really be any better? Basically a lose-lose proposition, but neither can do that much damage on their own so why worry about it

Hey I agree it is a lose lose. Really I wouldn't even have a terrible problem with Chump, minus the fact he is a crazy hot head that talks out his ass a ton.

That's my only concern really, is him running his mouth and foreign leaders just saying "fuck it let's nuke his dumb ass."

Again, I agree that both candidates are terrible choices, I am just going with the one that I think would have a smaller chance of getting us in to WW3.

In reality the Hill could get us in WW3 just as fast as Chump... lose, lose

I'm really looking forward to seeing just how much the system handcuffs any of these contenders. That's what it's designed to do, and I'm hopeful that it works as designed.

I remember people were afraid of Regan brining in WW3

There were even jokes about him going asleep and falling on the button.

I can't believe I'm saying it but I'm voting for Trump solely because I despise the lying, deceitful Hillary like nothing else in this world. That woman is pure evil. If she gets elected it will be more of the same BS that we've been dealing with the last eight years.

I think that no matter who you vote for or what party you support the end result is the same. Politicians say all the right things during election time and then basically do what they want or I should say what big industry and lobby groups want the rest of the time. The President like any other democratically voted leader is a small cog in a big machine and they really are limited in what they can do. I think Obama figured this out in during his first term. I am not a political animal and believe that whoever is voted in ultimately is the same as the last. They take our money and spend it as they like.

BTW Mt Iggle, I'd definitely trade you for some of the Canadians we have here.
Canada is like a really nice apartment over a meth lab.

The not so funny thing is that we came pretty close to a nuclear war in 1983. So I wouldn't say it was "nonsense talk". I'd say it was dangerous.

Fortunately Reagan (and/or his advisors) realized how close we came to disaster and worked to de-escalate things after this.

Over 10 days in November 1983, the U.S. and the Soviet Union nearly started a nuclear war. Now newly declassified documents reveal just how close we reached a mutual destruction -- because of an exercise.

Here's a videoi about the crisis from the UK's Channel 4:

Because of soviet reaction to a NATO exercise?

Yeah that was all Reagan's fault
