The word "crotch" troubles me

I don't care whether it is referring to a man or woman I just don't like the word. On the plus side it rhymes with stuff well. Crotch rot, for example. But I guess it's okay when referring to pants, so "that crotch will chafe" is acceptable. Otherwise you are just using an acceptable word to hide what you are really talking about. Dishonest. Just don't like it.
