They are an excellent defensive team. Haven't been great this series, but its more their own offensive woes that I've seen as the problem.

Based off of Defensive Efficiency, they were the 4th best D this year.

I think the problem, especially in game 3, is that they're facing 2 of the top 5 players in the world and if those guys are going, even the best defensive team in the league (Spurs) are going to struggle to stop them.

We'll see if Kerr can cook something up and earn that COY award. One thing is for sure, we're going to see the Warriors at their most laser focused in a long time and OKC will be in the same mode, so it should be a fantastic 2-4 games to watch.

Admittedly, I didn't watch them much during the regular season because I'm getting old and can't stay awake, but they give up a lot of points, even during the regular season (19th in the league in points allowed).

So, I get the efficiency ratings, which, I'm assuming are based off of 100 possessions like Pomeroy, but that's part of the problem - their offensive pace is such that they play a ton of possessions on defense. It's kind of the Chip Kelly effect. And I also get that it cuts both ways, but I think, in their case, basing it strictly off efficiency inflates them a bit. I certainly don't think they are just the 19th best defense in the league, but I also don't think they are the 4th best. Good, but not great.

All that said, I have watched them a lot during the playoffs, and I don't think they have been very good in the Portland series or in this series. And sure, they haven't been hitting shots, but that's the game they play.

Totally agree about Durant and Westbrook. If they stay this locked in, they'll be hard to beat.

So much of their success (defensively) is predicated on making you play the game they want you to play. That usually works pretty well.

However, anyone who watches 1 second of Russell Westbrook's game knows that the best way to describe his style is "fuck your shit up." Russ (and to a lesser extent, Dame Lillard last round) doesn't give a damn what you're trying to do, his athleticism and limitless energy allows him to do what he wants to do. Now, throw another freak of nature like KD into the mix. Yikes.
