  • Sexual Assaults in College and High School

is becoming the norm. This has been a problem with society since the beginning of time. Shit needs to change. God bless the victims and the victim's family.
500 internet fights, that's the number I figured when I first joined igglephans. 500 internet fights and you could consider yourself a legitimate internet-tough guy. You need them for experience, to develop leather skin. So I got started. Of course along the way you stop thinking about being tough and all that. It stops being the point. You get past the silliness of it all. But then...after...you realize that's what you are.

I'm thinking that like with things like cancer and autism, what we're seeing may largely be indicative of increased reporting.

Regardless, I totally agree that it's a terrible thing.

      Yep, Agree100%...and

...got to come down hard on the institutes (when involved) that attempt cover ups or turn the blind eye.

My 14 year old daughter worships her cross country and track coaches. They can do no wrong in her eyes. My wife and I often tease that we should have the coach call and ask her to clean her room. Coaches have a lot of influence on these young minds. Then you have athletes who have been told they are the greatest their whole life. These athletes given passes, never punished for mistakes. People who turn a blind eye disgust me.

My HS friend's sister married the basketball coach.

Another in my class married a swimming coach.

Yet another married the freshman wrestling coach.

All of them were pregnant at the altar.

Not all by the one they married, it turned out in a couple cases.
John Erlichman, one of President Richard Nixon's closest aides, has admitted America's "War on Drugs" was a hoax designed to vilify and disrupt "the antiwar left and black people" when it was launched in 1971.

When I was in high school, there were two social studies teachers. The guy I didn't have was also the girls lacrosse (I think coach). All the young ladies liked him, and there was always joking going on among the students that the girls wanted to date him. I don't think anybody took it seriously.

Years after I graduated from college, I read a piece in Sports Illustrated about school coaches abusing their influence and having relations with their players. And that teacher/coach was predominately named in the story. It started with one accusation, and then like with so many other such stories, it just snowballed as more and more girls came forward.

I was a little shocked, but certainly not surprised.
