Have fun at the game? That was a crazy goal and the last 15 minutes or so were fantastic. Bummer Uruguay lost. Cavani should have tied it up.

    was thinking of IE too

Great game! Also read there was "heightened security." Wondering how the security compared to that at an Iggles game.

I think that just means no bottles and suction devices for ABR. I wonder if Eagles games are ABR friendly?

        The big question...

did IE get to see the hissy fit from his seat?

Suarez may be nuts but I don't fault him for wanting to be out there. Especially when he's watching Cavani blow pretty easy goals.

I'm still in Phila. with only an iPad to respond with. It was a blast. Even though Uruguay lost. I'll give a more detailed report after I get back.

I saw it. And the result might have been a lot different if Suarez had played.

One other thing to consider is that Uruguay is one tenth the size in population that Venezuela is ( 3 mil vis. 30 mil).

                More to come.

                  Here's the story:

I bought tickets in the upper part of the lower level, figuring we'd be under cover if it was rainy.

But the stadium was about half full. They did not sell any tickets on the Eagles' side of the upper deck. I imagine that was because they wanted to put the crowd on the side where the cameras could see them and create the illusion that the stadium was more full than it was.

Anyway, my off again on again GF Maggie (from Uruguay) decided we should just go down closer and see if people ended kicking us out of the seats. That happened, but finally we ended up in the 4th row near the middle of the field. It basically became a general admission venture. By the second half a lot of people in the upper deck figured out that security didn't care and they moved down.
                  AWESOME.

So much for enhanced security measures. They were pretty much the same as going to an Eagles game, except they were a lot more lenient about taking flags, etc. inside. I guess they considered them as "blankets".

The vast majority of the fans favored Uruguay, which was surprising to us as Uruguay has only 3 million people, less than 1 tenth the size of Venezuela.

It sucks that they lost but the reality is they weren't going anywhere without Suarez.

Oh one other thing that was great was that before they played the correct national anthem, the Uruguayos chanted Uno, dos, thres... all the way up to 15 which is the number of Copas they have won.

Imagine that at an Eagles game! We'd have nothing to count.
