  • the first Ben Simmons

So far I have heard credible basketball commentators compare him to Magic Johnson (big guy great court vision and passing), Pete Maravich (creativity and fluidity of his passes), Allen Iverson (lack of a "shot"), LeBron James (physicality). All great players but totally different with diverse skills.

I can truly say I have never seen a young kid at this size with these kinds of skills.

Having watched the Lakers and Bulls summer league games all the way through, I'm excited for what this kid could be. Still early, but the Sixers made the right pick, IMO. I can see him as the first 6-10 point guard. Cant stop him from penetrating, cant defend his passes, cant deal with missmatch issues he creates.

Looking forward to watching him grow in real games. Gotta go back to AI for a Sixer this fun to watch.

Are you calling me a credible basketball commentator?

That's whats so great about this team. When we got Iverson, we didn't also have talents like Embiid, Saric, Okafor, Noel, etc... and multiple more potential high draft picks.

The future of this team is something to be incredibly excited about.

I think they definitely made the right choice. The games have been fun to watch. Can't wait to see the full squad.

It was fun watching the games. When is the last...

time a player for the Sixers would do something and you could hear the crowd go "OHHHHHH!" and abuse a guy on the other team that just got Pwned?

Slag said Maravich after the first game, I believe.

Magic Johnson also had question marks about his outside shooting coming into the league, remember? He developed a shot. Simmon's has a good stroke and there shouldn't be a problem.

I'm hoping the Sixers tell him to shoot at somewhere around 10 shots a game in the Summer league.

Shoot. Shoot. Shoot. Like you said, he's going to be a matchup nightmare.

the shooting will improve in time

as a point guard thtat's not going to be the emphasis of his game. Bt they will back off him and force him to shoot so he will have to work on it.
