My theory is that they are waiting for saric' feet to be in Philadelphia; then they'll turn Okafor or Noel for a guard.

The feet are in the house. Time to get cracking.

Yeah, he landed on Thursday. There was actually a live stream of him arriving at Philly Int'l.

I'm starting to sway towards trading Okafor. Can get a much better return. Don't love him complaining about trade rumors. I don't know. I really like the things Noel brings to the table. And he's still really young.

It's a tough call. I like Noel too, but if Embiid goes down and Okafor is moved, you go from an embarrassment of riches to dangerously thin in the middle.

Even at the risk of losing value and/or stunting Okarfor's development, I think you have to give it some time to see how Joel's foot holds up.

                  On another note...

                  Nice fucking timing, Dario!

Yeah that makes sense. I'm down to keep both. Let Brown see if he can figure something out.

For now. If Embiid is healthy and showing signs of being legit at the midway point, you absolutely pull the trigger on the right deal.

Noel fits better into what they want to try and do.

Unfortunately, he fits in better with what the rest of the league wants to try and do as well. And that is a guy that can protect the rim and run the floor. Slash to the basket and score inside. Your 1, 2 and 3 can be outside threats. Hopefully with some practice and confidence, Simmons can do pretty much all of it.

Okafor does none of that well. He's a plodder that couldn't block your shot. I watch him run to the offensive end and hear the song "I'm looking for a baby bumblebee" in my head. If someone takes Okafor and and JC can get an outside threat in return, do it before they change their minds. In the world of advanced NBA metrics, Jah is an anchor.

And even if JE does get hurt again, you've got two 6' 10" guys that could play small line up in the middle in Saric and Simmons. Then you draft another big body at the next draft. They're not going anywhere this season anyway.

By all accounts the team will get a better return for Noel. Okafor and Simmons doesn't seem like a natural fit but I do wonder how much more he'll score 1) with the added floor spacing they've brought in and 2) with Simmons getting Jah easy looks. 22 a game doesn't feel unreasonable at all.

Then if Embiid is healthy, they can look to move Jah too next summer coming off of a strong year.
