I do find it interesting that when they were winning in year one, guys were saying they never felt more fresh at the end of a season. Who knows. But the play-calling stuff is so troubling. Chip's arrogance is astounding. I'm kind of embarrassed that I bought in.
The guy had potential (and he still does to some extent) that was fresh and exciting. Unfortunately he is a dumb shit who underestimated the adaptive nature of the NFL, and let his own ego prevent him from learning. I'm disappointed, but I'm not embarrassed.
He got stuck with a young, inexperienced Marynowitz and we see how their drafts went. Perhaps Gamble would have been able to talk Chip into not drafting all those ex Ducks and making those silly trades. An experienced voice of reason could have gone a long way in that regard.
We'll never know.
John Erlichman, one of President Richard Nixon's closest aides, has admitted America's "War on Drugs" was a hoax designed to vilify and disrupt "the antiwar left and black people" when it was launched in 1971.
There's probably some truth to that, but he also then asked for full control and got what he wanted. Then he lied about it in that press conference. I have a hard time feeling any remorse for Chip, my dislike of Howie notwithstanding.

The consensus after year 1 and well into year 2 was that the players really bought in with Chip. I remember Kelce coming out after Djax was cut and saying how excited he was with the direction the team was headed. A lot of us bought in.
Andy Reid was and is still beloved by his players and we have seen Eagles players quit on him as well. Some of these vets are still here from that 2012 season.
