  • I wonder if Usain Bolt could play pro football?

plenty of football players were also track stars. But I can't think of that many track stars who became successful football pros. Skeets Nehemiah. Bob Hayes. The Eagles tried John Carlos and Frank Budd, both of whom failed miserably.

Bolt is retiring after these Olympics and only 30 years old. Who knows.

What I do know is I am going to miss this guy!

I am most looking forward to women's 800m of course.

We will miss Bolt when he's gone.

      Ajee !!!

Also the girl from North Jersey who at 16 is the youngest person to make the USA track team since 72, Sydney McLaughlin in the 400-hurdles. Doubt either will have a real shot to medal but I hope I'm wrong.

This whole anti-doping program thing could blow up and dominate the meet, though. I hope not. No Rooskis because of it and Jamaica and Kenya implicated but not formally charged. And the head of the IAAF getting run out for allegedly taking bribes? Its getting as bad a pro cycling.

Part of me wants to see Gatlin take down Bolt in the 100, but I cannot cheer against the guy. I think he's a lock in the 200. Doping thing notwithstanding its still Olympic track and field.
