  • Would it be impolite to point out

that this season was likely a complete smelly pile of shit with or without Lane Johnson for 10 days?

Guys a nitwit because he blew 35 mil if it goes as bad as it can ... but if this gets Wentz on the field sooner ... good by me.

I'm not sure I want Wentz on the field sooner. Especailly behind a weak O line.

We will see what happens. Any player can get inujured at any time. Johnson could just as easily suffered an ACL injury. The problem here is this appears to be a self inflicted wound.

I'm already nauseous over the sunk costs Of next year's number 1 that Cleveland got in the wentz trade.

Wentz is going to have to be as good as McNabb or better to make this deal worth it. It's possible I guess. But also just as likely a big FAIL.

I agree with this. Anything short of his being a legit top 5-10 franchise qb and this was a failure. I've been skeptical about this gamble, but if they really think he's that guy then I suppose you have to make the trade. If they are wrong, they set the franchise back another 5 years or so. Howie would have to be fired. Lurie would be kind to consider selling the team to someone who knows how to run a successful business.

More sickening knowing that the draft will be held IN Philly

              Exactly.

At the very least he has to pull a McNabb and get the team to a Super Bowl.
Unfortunately, for a few years it looks as if he may have to run an offense with Shemp and Curly playing OT in front of him while throwing the ball to Moe and Larry.

Well he already has similar quality WRs

.....I can see Bradford getting crushed behind this line with Wentz being back up then starting by end of the season in a bunch of meaningless games.

IMO this turd is already half way flushed.

Eagles will working hard to build their offense next year, starting with the OL.

I actually think even without Johnson the additions of Brooks and Wisniewski make this line better than last year's (not that that is saying much). Especially if Kelce can bounce back. Not going so quickly and not running plays the other team knows are coming should help as well.

I'm far more worried about the skill positions. Ryan Mathews is almost guaranteed to get hurt at some point. The receivers are brutal. I'm curious to see Reuben Randle tonight. I posted the other day that Norm King said he might not make the team yet everything I'm reading from the guys who cover the team on a daily basis is that he has been solid and could be a steal. Either way, like you said, they better improve at the skill positions or it won't matter if Wentz is McNabb. He'll get the same results with Pinkston/Thrash light.

Anytime you have issues at OT

It's going to be a long season, could be looking to replace 2 of them next year
Doesn't help an offense with questions at OT and weak WRs as there will be an increased need for TEs to stay in and block.

My understanding of Pedeys O is it could be TE heavy..... (Sigh)

Yeah, fair enough. I just keep telling myself that it is nice to have low expectations for a change.

They had an outside shot of being a pleasant surprise, maybe, if Ryan Matthews stayed healthy and kept the D off the field.

Now, the offense is completely screwed and the defense is going to be broken down by week six.

                        They weren't a good team before Johnson's suspension. Now I think they're a 2-3 win team.

You think Johnson makes that much difference (honest question)?

Mine are certainly low. Either way I win, if we exceed, great! If not, then I get some good Sunday afternoon naps. Win!!

A bad season would sting a little worse than usual this year. There will be no silver lining high draft pick to look forward to.
