          They contacted the board.

          I endorse this project.

          See below.

          Hello,

We are writing to call your attention to an upcoming Kickstarter campaign that will raise funds for a film about the Eagles-Cowboys rivalry, a documentary told entirely from the point of view of Philadelphia fans. The title of the film, “Dallas Sucks: A Completely Biased Documentary” captures the tongue-in-cheek, self-aware, and hilarious tone of the documentary.

          https://vimeo.com/172628633

In our first round of shooting, conducted last season, we interviewed local luminaries such as Governor Ed Rendell, Hall of Fame writer Ray Didinger, WIP hosts Glen Macnow, Ike Reese, and Howard Eskin, 97.5 morning show host Anthony Gargano, and a handful of bloggers, comedians, academics, and everyday fans. But this is a film that is just as much about the culture, attitude, and history of Philadelphia as it is about the outcomes of football games. In essence, we view this as a chance for Philadelphia fans to tell our side of the story. Now we need the help of the people of Philadelphia to complete the project.

The filmmakers are based in Los Angeles, but both grew up as die-hard Philadelphia sports fans across the Ben Franklin Bridge in Marlton, New Jersey. Brian Bennett, the director and producer, has worked on many commercial and digital projects, but his claim to fame was as a cameraman on Breaking Bad. Matthew Broad, the writer and producer, has a background in comedy, sports writing, and marketing. Both of them are making their feature film debuts with this project.

The Kickstarter (which is hilarious in its own right) is launching this week, in tandem with a Facebook page that will feature daily clips from the movie (meaning we will be posting 30 minutes-plus of free material over the course of the month) and build buzz within the internet's large and fervent Philadelphia fan base. In fact, we are even willing to give you access to exclusive video clips if you are interested. If this is a story you would be interested in covering in any aspect, be it a blog post, an article, a tweet, or a simple share of the Kickstarter page, we would love to partner with you. Thanks for your time.

Below is a link to a Vimeo page on which you can view the trailer for the film that will serve as the centerpiece of the Kickstarter page. This three-minute video captures the spirit and style that the feature-length documentary will showcase.

I love the concept, but I wonder if they didn't set the funding bar a little too high.

I'm in if for no other reason than these guys had the good sense to use Run The Jewels as the opening sequence song.

They'll never get to 100k if this season goes down like we all fear it will.

Maybe 60-70k but that's probably the ceiling.

And if they raise 70K, they might as well not even try. Kickstarter won't fund them (or charge the contributors) until they make their goal. And if they don't fund, the whole project will go Mamula.
