  • Do you stand up...

...when the National Anthem comes on a game you are watching on TV? (And no, standing up and going to the fridge doesn't count.) I'm serious. For those of you who are screeching about disrespect, if you don't stand up from the couch aren't you doing the same thing?

It's a pledge that is customarily made in public amongst citizens.

So you only need to be a patriot in public?
John Erlichman, one of President Richard Nixon's closest aides, has admitted America's "War on Drugs" was a hoax designed to vilify and disrupt "the antiwar left and black people" when it was launched in 1971.

I'm patriotic in private as well. When in public, it is customary to pledge our allegiance amongst ourselves as a show of unity.

I jerk off in private, but in Turkey it's customary to circle jerk in public.

Maybe that's an urban legion. Does anyone know this to be true?

I don't really care but the better question is

Do you stand up when at a game when they play the anthem? I don't remember seeing anyone in the stands not standing but never bothered to look around

NFL rarely shows the national anthem anymore, too much money to be made running commercials. Nuthin says Patriotic 'murica like making mo money

This is what they wouldn't show because ESPN has commercials to run:
