  • This Lane Johnson thing is a huge joke.

Word comes out over a month ago that he failed a drug test. He's going to be in the starting lineup Monday night.

    Think about that.

Actually this happens all the time. Players arent officially suspended until the B sample confirms the initial result. However, the league routinely notifies players the results of the initial test. As a result, there are always players who have a suspension looming over their heads as they await the results of the B sample test.

The only thing unique about Lane Johnsons case is that he took the rather strange path of alerting the press that he had failed the test immediately upon receipt of the initial test results instead of waiting for the league to test the B sample and then announce the suspension. In most cases, players and their agents dispute the test results in private without involving the league, or the media, and the league never announces test results it only announces suspensions.

The only thing to think about here is how incredibly stupid Lane Johnson is for both failing the test and then blabbing about it to the media. He is basically too stupid not to embarass himself.

That said, it may be a blessing to have the line in better shape while Wentz gets his feet wet.

Speculation from the WIP post-game guys was that the initial reports were leaked very, very early in the process. Normally we wouldn't have found out nearly as soon.

I thought about this. They need to play better Monday, IMO.

Yeah he's going to get suspended eventually. Honestly the sooner the better if they decide they're going to make the playoffs or something.

That guy LOVES talking to the media. Can't help himself. This will continue to be an issue until Dawkins or someone sits him down and addresses his addiction to headlines.

might have been on 97.5 a few months back, but I think someone with more experience (former player, but forget who) said the same thing and that he expected johnson to be suspended before the season started. I think there's something fishy.
