They have a swap with the Kings. The Kings will in all likelihood actually be terrible. The Sixers will likely just end up with a bad record.

ALSO...this guy put on 30 lbs since the summer league ended. How do you even do that? Could the sudden weight gain have contributed?

30 more lbs could not have helped but it sounds like he rolled his ankle which led to the break.

unless you are KG on a tittie milk binge...

...how do you put on that kind of weight that quickly? Can't be "good" weight. Rolled ankle or not, the weight gain thing sounds very strange to me.

The simplest explanation for how he put on 30 lbs is...he didn't. He put on weight, muscle or otherwise, I'm sure, but I don't think he really put on that much.

IMO, NBA listed heights and NBA listed off-season weight gains are about the same...can't trust what teams/players put out for either.

Now, maybe he did put on that much weight and if he did, that definitely could have a significant impact on this injury, but I think he just rolled his ankle and got an unlucky break. Sports gods telling us to slow down with our excitement for the future of Philly sports and whatnot.

He also could end up only missing a handful of games and be back by Thanksgiving. Why assume the worst when it appears this is a fairly minor injury?

FWIW the other Lopez brother had the same injury and was back in seven weeks.

THIS MAY BE THE DUMBEST, NO, NO, IT IS THE DUMBEST THING I'VE EVER READ ON THIS BOARD. FRACTURED FOOT FOR A PRO ATHLETE, AN OVERALL FIRST ROUND PICK, BE A BLESSING.

INJURIES LIKE THIS TO A BIG MAN COULD BE PAINFUL THE REST OF HIS LIFE. I BROKE MY FOOT WHEN I WAS 16, STILL HURTS. I KNOW WHEN IT'S GONNA RAIN EVERYTIME, AND I WAS JUST A PHONE MAN, A PRO ATHLETE , THIS AIN'T GOOD.

Sorry dude but use your brain. We can only pray that this heals properly, but history has told us different.

Bill Walton, Sam Bowie and Greg Oden all had broken feet. How'd that work out for them?

SINCE I'M NOT A HOOPS GUY, I'VE ONLY HEARD OF WALTON, SO I NEED TO ASSUME NOT GOOD. HOWEVER, I WILL DO MY RESEARCH.

OMG, what a drama queen. The dude has a simple foot fracture and will likely only miss a month of the season. His career is not in peril.
