  • Per THE GREAT LES BOWEN: Lane Johnson to play in Lions game.

So if suspension is upheld we might not see Lane Johnson the rest of the season, unless the Eagles make the playoffs. Maybe the last game of the regular season.

Les also notes that the length of any suspension cannot be reduced at this time. Prior to the hearing the league did have the option to reduce the length.

Why wouldn't he play the last two games of the season?

He's not going to be allowed any contact at all with the team during the suspension. I think there is gonna be a lot of rust for him to knock off after ten weeks. Not to mention, the team would have to completely shake up the line.

If the reconfigured OL gels in any way on that side of the line after the suspension I can easily see him not playing the last two games, and in particular the first game after the suspension is over.

Let me put it another way: if Lane Johnson were to start his first game eligible after a ten game suspension, the Eagles season would most likely already have been f*cked.

I don't have it handy, but HowDog roasted Lane pretty good in a quote.

P.S. I forgot to mention that the first game that he will be eligible is the Thursday night game against the Giants. So he's only going to have three days of practice at most before that game. And I don't know how Pederson plans to handle practice on a super short week. I imagine it would be limited on at least one of the days preceding the game.

I DON'T SEE HIM PLAYING THAT GAME, BUT DEPENDS ON OTHER INJURIES AT THAT POINT OF SEASON, CHANCE OF PLAYOFFS ETC.

If they indeed plan to start a rookie, I almost guarantee he'll be out there.
