  • Eric Rowe impresses in NE

From Boston globe article retested by Les Bowen

So the Patriots switched it up after halftime, and turned to their newest secret weapon — Eric Rowe, acquired from Philadelphia in a trade right before the season and pressed into duty on Sunday for the first time this season.

The Patriots switched from zone to man coverage and used Rowe, who stands 6 feet 1 inch and 205 pounds, to shadow Green. Rowe knocked a fade pass and a potential touchdown out of Green’s arms, and held him to one catch for 9 yards over the final 1˝ quarters.

I found trading him to be unnecessary

I like Rowe. Thought it was short shighted and a bad idea giving him away so early.

You know he will do just fine there bc their coaching is the gold standard.

Sounds like a sure flag if he had been wearing midnight green. That said, I didn't like the trade either.

Rowe’s best play came in the fourth quarter when he tipped away
an end zone pass intended for Green, forcing the Bengals to settle for
        a field goal.

“I was just trying to keep inside leverage,” said Rowe. “Once he put
his hand on my chest, I knew he was going to push off. So I had to
grab his arm to make sure there wasn’t too much separation there.

“Once I saw his eyes get big, I just looked back for the ball.’’

Green looked for a pass interference flag that never came.

“They’re all always looking for the call,’’ said Rowe. “But I knew it
        was clean.”

Did he really admit to grabbing AJ Green's arm to keep him in tight and then follow that up by saying "I knew it was clean"

I agree to not being a fan of the trade, but that whole quote is very Trump-esque in it's "I did this...I never did this" nature
