Exactly. Howie already wasted a pick on DGB

They're not winning anything this year. Keep the pick and see what falls out in free agency

is what i think Howie is thinking. It's a shame the compensation pick makes the trade make no sense.

So you missed the Steeler and Viking games?

He made a couple really dumb calls at the end yesterday. He acknowledged he got too conservative. He seems like a guy who is willing to accept and correct his mistakes. We'll see.

He doesn't have a lot to work with. The skill position situation is unacceptable. Sproles will break down if they keep using him like yesterday.

              This.

I'm not thrilled by any means with Doug's play calling.

But the facts are we have RBs who fumble and WRs who can't get open and can't catch.

Wentz, Sproles, and the Oline (and Doug) are doing it with smoke and mirrors.

If we're here in the same spot 2-3 years from now bitching about play calls, then we should all kill Doug.

With all due respect ... that's no excuse for bad play calling.

He ran the same underneath bullshit every fucking play.

Dallas sat on it all game ... and that ridiculous call when they were in FG range late was him ignoring what his personnel was.

Seth Joyner said Kelce could not have got out wide to block Lee if he had rocket boosters tied to him and he was right ... the guy had a bad foot for fuck sake.

The fact that Wentz did what he did is remarkable and the mistakes and lack of talent are a bigger reason than anything ... but it doesn't excuse Pederson's boobery.

He acknowledged he got too conservative and then, today said his only regret was not going for the TD after Agholor's drop and the penalty against Dallas that gave them 4th and one anyway.

Doesn't sound like a guy accepting his warts to me.

I'm not defending him. I'm just not going to kill him.
The play call on 2nd down after the 8 yard Sproles run was hot garbage.

I do think Pederson is handcuffed by guys who simply can't get open. Dak throws up a ball to Dez. Dez goes up and catches it. Dak is now great and Garrett is a genius.

Pederson and Wentz can't do this. They have nothing. I'm 100% on board with wanting to throw down the field. I WANT them to, but I understand why he's not.

I get what you're saying but I don't think it's out of the question to go downfield.

I do remember one play ... just one ... when Sproles had run it well on the drive and Wentz went play action and had all fucking day as a result ... but checked down anyway.

I trust Wentz would have gone deep if it was there, so I get that the personnel may prevent that, but it was the only play when I saw him looking downfield and then going short, as opposed to going short as the primary look or that fucking bubble screen.

Pedersen made a couple of really dumb calls and backed it up with shit that was even more dumb today. You remember Pedersen trotting the field goal team onto the field against Minnesota with 10-15 seconds left in the half in the red zone only to remember that a play only takes 5 seconds? Did you catch his "clock management" explanation from the chiefs playoff loss last year? They didn't lose because of lack of talent last night. They lost because Doug was too scared to try to win.
