  • Everybody letting Howlo off tonight?

Surprising. This is his roster. Pedey is his hire.

Another dog to be whipped on another day.

    Today, it's Pedey.

And, quite frankly, I'm still open to see what Howie can do to add talent around Wentz. What other choice do we have?

The Eagles clearly had the talent to beat the Giants yesterday so Im not sure where youre going in that regard but, in general, a criticism of a recently hired coach is, by its nature, a criticism of the guy who hired the coach.

Anybody given Sunday and all that but the receivers weren't remotely equivalent. And you can't use Sproles like Ezekiel Elliot.

the kicker Howie signed would have made it 29-28.

I don't buy that thinking. Unless youre talking final possessions, the games play out differently when the score is different.

And if the FG Howie's kicker tried didn't get blocked, they still win 29-28 if nothing else changes.

But Dougie was pretty much out of control on fourth downs.

              Agree

and if the score was closer from kicking those field goals, slack jaw would have needed to press. walking from those points was really not smart.

Early points are solid gold ... this isn't Madden or high school ... you kick makable FG's early in games ... period.

It's the book. I don't think you always play by the book but you do there.

It's like a two score lead with 4 minutes to go. If you get the ball you don't throw, you fucking run ... that's the book and you play it there.

When asked last week what he thought he did wrong, Gomer said taking the 3 on the first drive at Dallas was the wrong thing and he should have gone for it on 4th.

So, he fucked up in a myriad of other ways in Dallas, and the only thing he thinks he did wrong last week was the RIGHT thing ... in other words, doing the right thing was the wrong thing in his mind.

So what does he do this week? ... He does the wrong thing because he thinks its the right thing ... TWICE.

Reminds me of Richie "The Nice Guy Nitwit" Kotite.

Double Down Doug. When being stupid once isn't enough. His pc's are telling enough. Completely inept at identifying mistakes.

Doing it twice is what is unacceptable to me. I agree that you should kick the field goal in both situations, but you want to go for it the first time and try to get some momentum back? Ok, I can live with that. But then the second time, you HAVE to kick the field goal. You have a rookie quarterback and not a whole lot of talent on offense - why would you risk putting your team in a hole?

Plus, the play calls were bizarre. Long, drawn out plays. Running 4 yards to get 1? That's just as troubling. I don't want to hear about having confidence in your players - he obviously doesn't have enough confidence in his line to get a yard going straight ahead.

I agree with this, Slag. Sometimes you have to go if you're down 14. But not in the first half. And the play calls were both poor.

Jaws said the same thing yesterday. Take the points.

Jaws also said Wentz choked away the last series. He had hot reads on every play that he failed to use and was off target on fourth down.

Unfortunate for sure but they are both rookies. Wentz appears to have the talent and he's the more critical asset. Pedey is easy to replace if he is another Kotite. I'm not ready to make a final judgement on either yet. Maybe Pedey finds direction once they get some skill players. I'm not predicting but it's possible. Experience may help too.

You throw the sink at rookies to see if they can read it ... hopefully the game slows down for Wentz and he progresses like all top players say happens as they move forward ...but I'm way more confident in his progress than Gomer's.

Gomer said on Monday that he still felt strong about his 4th down decisions against the Vagiants ... terrific.

Let's see if his play calling chart gets washed away with a good rain...

He may say that but my guess is we see less Riverboat Doug next game.
