Can't jump... Can't defend... Can't rebound... Looks lost on offense.
Right now... Can't even call him a trade asset because he's so bad.

I used to think you knew a little bit about the game.
Right now, this is not really a team. Too many bodies at some positions and no bodies at others. Also new personnel still learning to play together. Also starting to have some serious concerns about Bret Brown. Not all his fault, but his time might be close to done here.
Olufor is a flatout stud. He just needs a team to play with, hopefully right here in Philly before too long.
Officially awaiting Douchebagnacht II since
May 7, 2010
His defense has been really bad, but it would be nice to see him on the court with Embiid. Okafor is obviously struggling coming off the bench. Part of that might be on him (attitude) but part is certainly always playing with different guys.
At this point of withholding judgment until this team is healthy and together. Agree about Brown, I am having concerns as well. However, I think he gets a chance to coach Simmons with a less restricted Embiid and Okafor and a healthy Noel.

Ehhhh disagree with this. Okafor is not a flat out stud. Embiid is a flat out stud. The 76ers PnR defense is substantially worse when Okafor is in the game. He cannot hedge and does not have the leaping ability to make up for his lack of lateral quickness. Offensively he had 60 pounds on Capela and couldn't bully him down low. I want to give him time bc he has been injured but he has looked like shit thus far.

I don't see him as a stud at all. Can't/won't rebound...no positional awareness on d, no explosion at all. It's not the one injury either. He didn't have all that much explosion proof to the knee injury.
He might be okay...but he's no stud.

equals a free trip down the lane for an easy bucket.
OLE!!!
John Erlichman, one of President Richard Nixon's closest aides, has admitted America's "War on Drugs" was a hoax designed to vilify and disrupt "the antiwar left and black people" when it was launched in 1971.
Some stats might lie, but that one is freaking unreal.

he looks doughy and apathetic. Still has nice touch and moves, but also some of the same as last year where he can get caught in a move and be unaware of the closing defense. Defense and rebounding is still really bad for his size and weight.
Going to give him time, as his touch is special, but wonder if he might not be as a whole. I won't be crushed if he's traded.
Yeah, saw Okafor's +/- for yesterday's game. Worst on the team. His defense has been terrible.
Embiid, I believe, was the only one with a positive +/- last night. Having Embiid on the floor for defense changes everything and I suspect he would pick up some of Okafor's slack, but I guess we won't find out until all of these restrictions are lifted.
I believe that the white dude for Purdue could dunk over him.
Haas? I wonder if he plays summer league for the Amish Mafia.
Kid went to town on 'nova in the second half last night.

Okafor was born in the wrong era. The current crop of bigs are athletic freaks. I think watching guys like Embiid do the unreal shit they do makes Jah look slower and like he's not trying as hard.
I think Jah can have a productive career on the offense end, but he will always have his defensive limitations, especially as his opponents keep getting taller but somehow even quicker and more mobile. He could be the next Al Jefferson.

He's the 2nd best (active) player on the team right now and he's coming off the bench. He's also only 20 so there's plenty of time for improvement if he cares.
I'd like to see him and Embiid on the floor together at least late in games. Joel can cover for Jah's defensive shortcomings. I know it didn't look pretty when Brown tried it but that was too small of a sample size. If they can't figure out how to play together I don't see a point in Jah being here past this season.
